Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new”

2 Corinthians 5:17

PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS

The application process is the first step on the road to getting started with the    Safe Harbor Mentoring Program.  We realize that this is a crucial time for those seeking help. As a prospective applicant, you will be asked to submit a letter of need, where you will share about yourself and where you are now, as well as your aspirations. Your letter of need will be submitted to the induction committee for review.

After your letter has been reviewed by the board of directors and executive director, Roy Kirton, you will be called in for an interview with our liaison.  In this interview, an assessment will be made of how the program can help develop your abilities, gifts, and talents, as well as the areas that the program needs to focus on assisting you.                                                                                    Upon acceptance to the program, the members are required to attend sessions on Tuesday and Sunday.  These sessions are mandatory in that they provide community support, which is a vital aspect in the rehabilitation progress.

The Tuesday sessions consist of a talk group for men--where men of all ages and backgrounds get together to grow and learn from each other's experiences and by developing lasting relationships.  Speakers are invited to provide how-to instruction on different facets of life as a male in today's society.  Fellowship activities are also planned to create a bonding environment among the men.

The Sunday sessions are held at the partner church, Circle of Love Ministries World Wide, where members will have the opportunity to gain the love and support that is so vital to rehabilitation into society.  Sunday sessions are required in order to fulfill and prepare members for the world that is awaiting them.  Circle of Love Ministry Members are a support to members of the mentoring program.

In addition, program members will participate in a Life Skills Class, which provides support in the work force and job readiness.  Each program member will be assigned a job mentor and life skills coach, and will be sent on interviews with prospective employers.

Members of the mentoring program are required to complete a contract with the program.
